Carrozzeria Macchi was founded by Augustine Macchi and John Macchi based in Varese in the middle of the 19th Century and built carriages. In 1905, Giovanni and Giuseppe Macchi founded the company Società Anonima Fratelli Macchi. Now automobiles, buses, trams and trains, and wagons and wooden wheels were manufactured. During the war they had to produce products for the military. This also included the construction of airplanes. In 1919, the famous artist and car designer Flamino Bertoni thought Macchi by drawing the shapes of models.
1907 - 1909
Macchi was founded by the Macchi brothers in 1907 and located in Varese and were involved with the Wolsit company in Legnano, together with the British car manufacturer Wolseley. They produced cars for two years under license with the Wolseley automobile manufactured. In 1909, the company was abandoned.
