Helicopters

AgustaWestland
Helicopter design and manufacturing company based in Italy and the United Kingdom. It was formed as a joint venture in July 2000 when Finmeccanica and GKN plc agreed to merge their helicopter subsidiaries. AgustaWestland is now a fully owned subsidiary of Finmeccanica.

Defence Electronics

SELEX Sensors and Airborne Systems (S&AS) (75%).
Merger of Galileo Avionica (formerly Alenia Difesa) and BAE Systems Avionics. Finmeccanica thus becomes the second defense electronics group in Europe, after Thales of France.

Ansaldo Energia.
The company has more than a hundred years of power generation experience and an installed capacity exceeding 153,000 MW in over 75 countries. Revenues in 2003 stood at 802 million euros.
Ansaldo Fuel Cells
In June 2004 Ansaldo Fuel Cells inaugurated the Terni industrial fuel cell production facility for stationary applications. The production capacity, initially 3 MW, should have reached 15 MW by 2006.

Joint venture with EADS and BAE Systems for co-ordination of the design, production and upgrade of Eurofighter Typhoon.
Lockheed Martin Alenia Tactical Transport Systems (50%, with Lockheed Martin)
Joint company formed in 1997 for the development of the C-27J Spartan, a further development of Alenia's G222.
